What Yoga Classes will your Yoga Studio Offer?

You must consider carefully the classes you offer. Several approaches and options are as follows:

In planning your yoga classes, check out your yoga teacher colleagues and other studios in your town. It’s also somewhat important you do so when developing your brand, especially your unique selling position (USP). You don’t want to offer exactly what a studio down the street offers. That’s pointless because you’re only hurting yourself and them. Instead, offer something different. That’s your USP.

Go and take classes at other yoga studios and check out their branding strategy, location, look and feel, and pricing. It’s important to know this information so that you can do something different. I’m not saying you’ll do it better and try to put the others out of business. I’m saying you want to offer something different.

That said, you probably have a type or few types of yoga you would like to deliver – especially if you know what benefits you would like to deliver. Assuming you know what types of yoga to teach, consider the following when deciding on your class schedule:

  • Will you add meditation, satsang, pilates classes?
  • Will you have one-time workshops?
  • Are your teachers proficient and qualified to teach whatever classes you offer?
  • Are your teachers enthusiastic about the classes they’re assigned to teach?
  • Do your yoga teachers innovate from class to class (rather than do the same routine over and over)?
  • Are your classes progressive – i.e. do they build on previous classes?
  • How long are your classes?
  • Will your schedule remain consistent or change over the course of a year? If you change it up, be sure to communicate those changes to your clients.

Leave enough time between classes so that students don’t feel hurried.
