Become an acknowledged yoga expert quickly by publishing your yoga articles on article directories
If you Google your name or your yoga studio’s, what comes up? As a yoga teacher, a big part of your brand is your name. You don’t get to hide behind a behemoth corporation; your business and your credibility is built on your name.
These days more and more people will search a service-provider’s and company’s name in Google or some other search engine before buying or trying. The same is with yoga teachers; many prospective yoga students will search your name before attending your class. Therefore, it’s incredibly important that the first 2 pages of the search engines result in positive listings.
Don’t lose prospective yoga students for lack of credibility online.
What are positive search engine listings for yoga instructors?
Your website and blog are a good start. Your LinkedIn and Facebook profiles are also important. But that’s only 4 search engine page listings. If 4 listings is all you have on the search engine results’ page from a search of your name and yoga studio, you’re missing out on an incredible marketing and credibility-building tool.
You can easily and quickly fill out the search engine listings by becoming a published author online. These days it’s super easy to publish online. No, you don’t need to be accepted by Yoga Journal, but if you do, that’s terrific also.
There are numerous free online article directories where you can submit your articles that will then be published. In fact there are some publishing platforms that will pay you a percentage of the ad revenue your articles generate.
The following is a list of article directories and publishing platforms I like and use. Please bear in mind there are hundreds of article directories available.
Article directories that publish at no cost to you (but don’t pay you either):
- EzineArticles: the most popular article directory that gets excellent search engine results. Tip: you can submit 10 articles for free. Then your articles are assessed for the privilege to continue submitting articles. If your articles are poor quality, you may not be approved for submitting more articles. Therefore, write quality content for EzineArticles.
- GoArticles: another article directory that gets respectable search engine results.
- iSnare: You can publish on iSnare for free and/or take advantage of their paid service (only $2.00 per article distribution) that mass-distributes your article throughout the internet.
- Buzzle: gets very decent search engine results, but the publishing restrictions are stringent.
- ArticleDashboard
- ArticleCity
Publishing platforms that pay you a percentage of the revenue:
- Triond: publishes your articles on its networks of prominent blogs.
- HubPages: publishes your articles on its own website.
- Squidoo: enables you to create your own mini-sites called lenses. All lenses are published on the squidoo.com domain.
- eHow: publishes articles on its own website that answer “how” (I haven’t used eHow yet, but I place it here because it’s a prominent paying publishing platform you may be interested in.
Additional benefits for publishing articles
1. In addition to building your credibility, publishing articles give you an opportunity to link to your website(s) and/or blog(s). The more links to your sites the better search engine results you’ll get. Those article links also offer a portal for your article readers to visit your sites.
2. Some article publishers such as EzineArticles, allow your article to be published elsewhere such as other websites, blogs, newsletters, etc. Yes, someone can take your article and use it for their content. If this happens to you, count yourself and your yoga business fortunate. The very strict rule for using your article is that your article, including your bio / links must be published “as is.” This means your name and your article and your link get syndicated. That is an excellent form of viral marketing for you and your yoga studio.
The point is publishing quality articles about yoga or related to yoga presents numerous benefits for your yoga studio business. It doesn’t take too long and the payoff is huge.
