Pick and Choose Your Yoga Studio Marketing Activities

Avoid going crazy by practicing selective yoga marketing.

Most yoga studio owners and yoga teachers, if they do any marketing at all, do it themselves.

Trying to do every marketing activity available with limited resources is nearly impossible. You’re better off choosing a few yoga studio marketing activities and doing them exceptionally well.

This means you need to choose your marketing activities.  How?  Do what’s effective and what you enjoy.  If a marketing activity is effective and you want to implement it, but don’t like doing it, hire it out or don’t do it at all.

How do you find out what are effective yoga marketing activities?

Simple, make it a policy to ask every inquiry to your studio how they found out about you.  Then track the responses.  You can take it so far as to also track which inquiries ended up attending a yoga class at your studio.  Then track which of those who attended yoga classes became a long-term loyal yoga students.  Perhaps certain marketing activities attracted long-term students while others produced only inquiries.

Tracking and gathering information is time-consuming, and you don’t want to get bogged down into it – by ending up gathering useless information.  However, knowing which marketing activities work is very useful information and not difficult to gather.  Just ask your students and those who contact you – in my experience people are happy to tell you how they learned about your yoga studio.

Very important: if a person was referred by another student or someone you know, take the time to send a thank you note.  Word-of-mouth is, in my view, the very best marketing out there.  It costs you nothing and prospective students referred by word-of-mouth are pre-sold on your studio.
