Boost Yoga Site Traffic With an Ezine Article Submission

Ezine Article SubmissionSince December 2009 I’ve really dug into writing and publishing articles on EzineArticles.com (Ezine). I’ve increased my Ezine article submission rate because I’m absolutely astonished how many people read my articles published on Ezine. Other than doing SEO for your website and/or blog, in my experience and view, one of the best ways to market your yoga business (or any small business for that matter) is to write and publish articles (and videos) on the web.

My favorite article directory is EzineArticles.com (Ezine). The bottom line is I like submitting articles to Ezine a great deal because it gets good results – my articles get viewed, they rank decently in the various search engines, and as a result I’ve had many visitors to my websites from my Ezine article submissions.

This blog post on Ezine sets out:

  • my modest, but strengthening Ezine stats,
  • the results I get from Ezine,
  • the reasons I work with Ezine,
  • the way to promote your current articles, and
  • why I don’t publish on some other relatively popular article directory sites (for the time being).

My Ezine article submission stats are as follows:

  • Articles published to date: 20
  • Date I published my first article: Aug. 24/09. Note, I published 18 out of 20 articles since Dec./09.
  • Article views: 2,668
  • Profile views: 700
  • URL clicks: 152 (the number of people who clicked through to my websites from my Ezine article submissions).

These are not the best figures; fairly modest in fact, given that there are many authors with thousands of articles published on Ezine.

The point: even publishing a few articles will result in visitors to your site(s).

More to the point, these site visitors are quality visitors because they are interested by the article topic and more likely trust you (at least some). Truth be told you’ve presold that visitor with your article.

At this time I haven’t promoted my articles much whatsoever. I might have linked to two or three from my websites. I plan to start promoting my articles a lot more aggressively so my articles independantly get better search engine rankings. That said, given I have marketed very little, my articles still produce for me.

My reasons Ezine publishing works:

  • It costs nothing.
  • Great results – visitors come to my sites.
  • I enjoy writing.
  • Website visitors are pre-sold – they’re obviously interested in the article subject matter.
  • Ezine articles rank well on the search engines.
  • Easy to use pen names within your account.
  • Syndication: many website and blog owners go to Ezine to get content for their sites. More exposure and links for me.

Ezine article submission tips:

1. Read Ezines’ editorial guidelines so you have your Ezine article submission correct right off the bat. It’s time consuming to fix article submissions – avoid if possible. Besides, if you don’t make mistakes, you have a better chance of being promoted directly to platinum status after you publish 10 articles.

2. Promote your articles (see below).

3. Do not forget to research the keywords you’re using. More people will read your articles if you use keyword phrases that people actually search. The include those phrases (at least one) in your article title.

4. Duplciate content: My practice is to only publish unique articles on Ezine. I don’t, for example, publish articles that are the same on my blog. Sometimes they are similar, but I typically re-write them to some degree. However, many people simply add their blog posts to Ezine and claim it works for them. Experiment on this and do what works for you. With your experiments, look at your search engine results also to see which article (your blog post or Ezine article submission) shows up the hightest in the search engines.
5. Strive to write quality articles; you are assessed at the 10 article and 35 article mark for the privilege to continue publishing. You can be advanced to the hightest level at the 10 article mark if you’ve had not publishing issues.

Promoting Ezine Articles:

  • From your sites, link to your Ezine articles.
  • Link to articles from other articles (and videos).
  • Include links to your articles in your e-newsletters.
  • Why I don’t typically publish on other popular article directories?

Where else do I submit and publish articles?

I have published on GoArticles, Buzzle, iSnare, Article City, Triond, Squidoo, and HubPages.

At the end of the day, I get the biggest return on my time using Ezine. Therefore, it’s a time issue with me. I only have so much time, and since Ezine article submissions deliver the best for me, that’s where I invest my time.

That said, I use Unique Article Wizard. Unique Article Wizard publishes unique articles I write onto many article directory websites. I invest the time writing unique articles and Unique Article Wizard submits articles for me. I find it takes a lot of time submitting articles to article directories.

Note: Ezine is not an article directory Unique Article Wizard submits to – that’s why I manually upload to Ezine.

If you’re looking to increase your yoga studio (or any small business) profile and get excellent marketing results for little investment, Ezine article submission and publishing is one of the best marketing activities you can do. Try a few and see for yourself.
