Create Your Own Yoga Cards for Your Students’ Home Practice

Creating yoga cards is an inexpensive and easy way to keep your yoga students coming back again and again.

How often have you attended a yoga class that was fantastic and then try to do the same routine at home the next day or a few days later?  The key word is try because I always forget some parts of the yoga routine taught in class.

I bet many of your yoga students who do a home practice have had the same thing happen to them.

Why don’t you, as a yoga studio, think of ways so you’re your yoga students can remember.  I have an idea for you to do this that costs you very little.

Steps to creating your own yoga cards

  1. Have someone take photographs of you or one of your teachers doing many yoga poses.  Then print those photographs on paper and make cards.  You can use cheap or expensive photo paper, whatever your budget permits.
  2. Then, number each card or piece of paper.  If you add more to the collection, just keep numbering them.
  3. When you create a routine for your class (maybe it’s a series for the week), print out a sheet listing the numbers that correspond to the cards.
  4. Finally, give or sell your yoga students a copy of your cards.

After each class, have your routine sheets listing the numbers available for your students to take home.

Don’t forget about digital delivery.  On your website you can set out your images in the order of your class.  Perhaps create a slide show.  The sky is the limit.

If your students wish, send all the images digitally to them by e-mail.  E-mail your routines to them as well.

Think of the viral potential.  Your photos and routines may pass along to other people.

You get the point.  This is an inexpensive and easy way to offer something extra for all your students.  Your students will do more yoga at home, which means they’ll establish a consistent yoga practice, which means consistent attendance to your studio.
